Recruitment agencies and job listing websites

The Careers Service has outlined the services available to third party recruiters and the relevant costs involved. 

This statement covers the University of Bristol Careers Service policy for

  • Third parties involved in the recruitment process on behalf of a client. This refers to Recruitment Agencies/Consultancies, Executive Search and Selection, Head-hunting organisations and other third parties who carry out any recruitment related activities under any other terminology.  
  • Organisations that have web based job listings as their primary activity

All recruitment activity must comply with our terms and conditions.

Advertising vacancies on behalf of a client

Recruitment events and services*

• Three stands are available for recruitment organisations to book at the following careers events:
o Autumn Careers Fair
o Engineering & IT Careers Fair
o Careers with a Science Degree
o Summer Careers Fair  
Stands must be booked through ‘mycareer’ and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  

• Web advertising services are available. Payment must be made using the University on-line shop in advance of advertising.
• Rooms may be booked for presentations or interviews if your client is named in all publicity. Contact the Employer Engagement Team for available dates.
• Attendance at skills sessions and similar activities is not possible.

The Careers Service will not:
• Promote agencies to academic or other University departments
• Hold or distribute posters or other promotional material

Organisations as described above who are recruiting their own staff should register as ‘Agent for Employer’ but complete the vacancy form with the relevant details for their organisation. There will be no charge for internal vacancies.

Clients who have outsourced the entire HR function to an agent for all their recruitment needs must contact the Careers Service direct in writing to confirm who is acting on their behalf. Confirmation made through the agent will not be accepted.

The Policy Statement for Recruitment Consultancies and Job Listing Websites has been updated following a recent IT systems update. It does not reflect a policy change. It does reflect a change in the services now available to recruitment agents and websites and the processes to book these.
